Burning Homes

Burning Homes is yet another instance of various kinds of open source software deployed in an effort to make the internet a bit more decentralized.
No advertising, no tracking, no analytics, no paid subscriptions and no financial interest whatsoever, no getting left behind by hype-enhancing algorithms. It's a rather small server, but we aim to provide those in need with an extensive suite of social and productive web services untethered from big corps, while at the same time giving a relatively little known software a chance to prove itself - expect a healthy dose of WIP and rough edges on the challenging path to reclaiming your privacy.
Dedicated servers that our services are running on are rented on OVHCloud (untethered from big corps my ass, yeah) and located in Gravelines, France - you can rest assured that the hardware will be fine. /s

GoToSocial Icon

GoToSocial

GoToSocial is an ActivityPub social network server, written in Golang.
In case that doesn't mean anything to you, think of it as a versatile Twitter alternative that can be hosted by anyone, and everyone can communicate with everyone else on the network no matter what instance they're registered on, the same way GMail can exchange emails with Outlook, you can send SMS to your friends even if you have different carriers, and you can play and chat in cross-platform games regardless of who's on pc and who's on console - your interactions are not locked strictly within one service.
If you've ever heard of Mastodon, Pleroma, Misskey, Pixelfed or PeerTube, just to name a few, you'll be able to follow and communicate with users from just about any instance of any of those and more.

GoToSocial doesn't come with a web client, so we also have Phanpy web client for that, but you're free to use any Mastodon-compatible mobile or web app.
This is a 18+ instance. We have a lax policy on incoming content (accounts you follow), and a somewhat strict policy on outgoing content (things you post, repost, cite and share links to).
Registration is open most of the time, email verification and moderator approval is required, so you'd better write something meaningful in the "reason" field when you sign up.

Jitsi Icon

Jitsi

Jitsi is a free and open-source video conferencing solution.
This is a website where you can hold multi-person voice and video calls, including screen sharing, through your browser, without installing any additional software.
That said, it comes with some solid iOS and Android mobile apps. To use this server to start a call on your mobile app, put "https://jitsi.burning.homes" to Settings->Conference field (you don't even have to do that if you join the call using a link.)

Our instance doesn't require registration, so using it is as simple as giving access to the microphone, typing in a nickname and sharing the room link with those you want to chat with.
Rooms are open by default, so anyone with a link can connect to your call, but you can put a password on the room or switch to manual approval mode in the room settings.

Conduwuit (Matrix)

If you've ever heard of a Matrix or Element, it's one of the servers for this thing, written in Rust.
Instant messaging with end-to-end encryption, private and public groups, file sharing, voice and video calls, bots, widgets - it is the one of the options you come to when you realize how screwed you are by whatever WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, etc you were using before.

I'm still sorting out some of the nuances of 1-on-1 voice calls, but otherwise it works fine.
Registration is closed, but contact me through mail or something so I can get you an account!

Hoarder Icon

Hoarder

A bookmark-everything app (links, notes and images) with AI-based automatic tagging and full text search.
Simply put, it's a dumpsite for links to all the stuff that "will come in handy later". It comes with browser extensions and mobile apps that you can quickly send the link to save text content of the page and auto-tag it making it notably easier to find it later with built-in search. It's also possible to archive a near-perfect single-file copy of the page - achieved with monolith under the hood.

Registration is closed as it's too easy to abuse and there is no approval mechanisms at the moment. Get to know me better and ask me to create an account for you if interested.

Statping-ng Icon

Statping-ng

Status page for monitoring our websites and applications. If something went wrong, take a look there to see whose side the problem is on and if we're doing something about it now.
Contrary to best practices, it's hosted on the same hardware as most of our services, so if this page is inaccessible too, you know something has gone SERIOUSLY wrong.
